Richmond Hill (Ontario) uses following recreation swim descriptions in its “Leisure Guide” (excerpt from brochure):

  • LANE SWIM
    Open to any adult or youth (minimum 12-years of age) interested in swimming lengths for fitness. The pool is divided into slow, medium and fast lanes and participants are asked to swim in a counter-clockwise loop. Children are not permitted at this time. The Wave Pool does not divide the pool with lane ropes.
  • LADIES’ LANE SWIM
    Same as above, however, these swim times are restricted to females only (see Centennial Swimming Pool).
  • FUN ‘N’ FIT SWIM
    This special program is a combination swim. It’s a perfect time for parents to come and play with their young children (maximum 6-years of age) in the warm water of the Tot Pool. Lane swimming is available for adults and seniors in the Main Pool. Please note: There are no age restrictions at Richvale Pool for the Tot Pool.
  • LADIES’ FUN ‘N’ FIT SWIM
    Same as above, however, these swim times are restricted to females only (see Richvale Swimming Pool.
  • PARENT AND CHILD
    Come to Richvale to enjoy our small pool with your family! All children and youth must be accompanied in the water and directly supervised by a parent or guardian (minimum 16-years of age). The large pool will not be available at this time.
  • LEISURE SWIM
    During this swim, all ages are welcome. Pools are set up to maximize recreational activities in a safe environment. Where indicated, waterslides will operate in 15-minute intervals.
  • OLDER ADULT SWIM
    Open to older adults (55-years of age and older) for fun, fitness and relaxation.
  • WAVE SWIM
    Ride the waves and shoot down the twisting, turning 160-foot water slide! The wave action alternates with the slide operation in 15-minute intervals. Please note: No membership passes are valid during this swim time.
